travel in another world...

I recently glanced through a brochure from Bentley and four words were planted in my mind; ‘travel in another world’. Just perfect to sum what for many must be the most desirable convertible in the world – the Bentley Azure.

this car it is sheer magic...

Once behind the wheel of this car it is sheer magic, gazing forward you are led by the ’Flying B‘ mascot on top of the radiator grille. Beneath the long bonnet rests a 6.75 litre, twin turbo V8 engine with a power output of 450bhp, some would say modest by Bentley standards.

But for goodness sake this is a car to view the world from; yes if you need a quick commute from A to B, the Azure can deliver. Rest to 60mph in 5.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 171mph, where legal.

the perfect motoring tonic...

Power delivery is aided by a six speed automatic transmission, which lists amongst its features, a sport mode.

In a mere 25 seconds you can have the roof neatly stored in the boot at the flick of a switch, then an open road with open skies and you have the perfect motoring tonic.

Bentley captures a unique feel of an era long gone...

The creator of Bentley, W.O. Bentley, once stated, “There is nothing I know to compare with the sensation of rushing through the night.” Yes, I can agree with the great man. To this very day despite the march of technology, every Bentley somehow manages to capture that unique feel of an era long gone.

The Azure can transport four in a level of comfort that few cars can even get close to. For the driver the controls and instrumentation are very retro, each control has a silky smooth operation; to travel in such a car is a joy; better still the opportunity to take the wheel.
